I love the pose and alertness of the fox in this beautiful snowy scene. Painting fur is challenging, for sure. This one was especially tricky to make the coat appear damp. This is achieved by the stringy streaks of the undercoat and the mottled fur on the forehead. I learned some new things with this painting.
