Hear, That Your Soul May Live. Galilee and all that happened there.

DarkNight:HalfLight A series of paintings about the dark seasons of life, of tragedy, of loss, of doubt. It's also about hope, trust, faith, and their counterfeit. It's about mercy so severe it seems like wrath. It's about half-light and things that masquerade as truth.

I've been challenging myself to paint more vulnerably and personally. This is especially difficult because I, like most people, want to be understood and known. "Who am I?" echoes in my soul. It's my life question. Inviting people into that inner life through my art opens a door that I keep shut. Trying to communicate an idea or emotion without using words (or at least very few) is enormously daunting, but I've accepted the fact that art is risky.
