Featured Art for Best & Brightest 2024

This is a first for me. I've never had my artwork be selected to promote an art exhibition. So I was very surprised to see today that my watercolor painting, Desert Dainty, was chosen to promote Scottsdale Artists' School's Best & Brightest 2024. I'm very thrilled.

I guess I'll just have to enter again this year.

The watercolor painting of the cactus is stunning. How is it possible to do such a technically perfect piece? I work in oil, but dream of doing watercolor. I've taken classes but the standard of teaching was poor, just pushing color and water around. I'm frustrated, but will not give up. Question, how did you learn to paint like this, and what would you suggest I do? Thanks….from the Netherlands
